Playing Bluegrass and Other Stuff
It's that time of year again! October 4th marks the beginning of our 10th season at Brazos Bend State Park. We hope you will join us to celebrate the release of our new CD "Down the Road" and to welcome our new bass player, Daniel Zajicek. This is a special event for us (at a special time: 7:00 - 9:00).
Through the years we have had the good fortune to play music with many friends who have brought us to this place in musical time. We thank you all for your donations, friendships, and support. We hope to see you at the park or further on "down the road".
Anna Beavers, Rex Mann, Wayne Nugent, Bob Young, and Daniel Zajicek.
ABOUT THE BAND
The Brazos River Pickers have been playing around the greater Houston area since 2003. We like to say that we play our own style of bluegrass music but with an old 1945 Kay upright bass, a mandolin, 2 guitars, a banjo, and an occasional harmonica, we sound "grassy" no matter what we do. Truth be told though, we have our hearts in all kinds of music. We also try our hands at traditional, old-time, country, Americana, gospel, folk, and some occasional grassed up Rock and Roll. Our home base is the Brazos Bend State Park where we play the first Saturday of October through April, weather allowing.
